  • In which state are the offered used appliances and instruments?

Each unit is in a technically and optically perfect state upon delivery. After you will have ordered a unit from us, we shall order it from the tenderer and then have it checked in one of our independent service laboratories, respectively overhauled. Thereafter it will be supplied to you.

  • Will the devices be refurbished by Labexchange?

All devices will be completely inspected before delivery. Here Labexchange pays attention to observe the manufacturer`s specifications. Due to the aging process it can happen in rare cases that the specifications can no longer be maintained to 100 %, although the device has no technical defect.

This technical inspection will be executed before the delivery of each device, however it does not correspond to a general overhaut in terms of the definition. The devices will not be new painted, parts will only be replaced if the technical operation is restricted, etc... Therefore it is also possible that a device bears due to the previous use traces of usagage, for example scratches in the lacquer, burned-in. dirt. dents or the like. Labexchange tries to bring the equipment in the best possible condition. On request photos of possible optical defects can be sent.

  • Which securities do I have when buying a used unit?

All used equipment is guaranteed to be in perfect condition - visually and technically - and is checked and, if necessary, serviced by Labexchange. The warranty period is 60 days from delivery date. It is possible to extend the guarantee. For an additional charge of 10 % warranty is extended to six months, for an additional charge of 20 % to one year. You can be completely certain that your used device from Labexchange is in perfect working order.

  • Who will install the unit in my premises?

The list price does not include installation and training. If required, the Labexchange Service GmbH will be engage to perform installation of the device in question. Please ask us for Installtaion Servce.

  • Who carries out the customer service for used units?

All units can be serviced and be repaired by the Labexchange Service GmbH.

  • For how long will there exist spare parts for my unit?

Market-leading manufacturers name an availability of at least 10 years for spare parts. This availability of spare parts can in the individual case be clarified by Labexchange with the manufacturer.

  • How will the unit be sent to me?

All equipment is either transported in our own vehicles - and, in the case of very sensitive devices, on foam mats - or by a specialist haulier on our behalf.

  • Can used units be leased or rented?

Used units an be leased or bought by hire-purchase, depending on what is best suited with regard to taxes. Via our capable leasing partners or via a leasing company of your choice units can be leased from a sales value of about 5,000.- EURO onward. We shall gladly submit you a favourable offer.

Used units, which are in our stock and are owned by us, can also be rented for a certain period of time. Please ask us what the conditions are for renting.

  • Where does a unit come from ? Where was it deployed before?

Units are mainly offered us in Germany, however also from other European and non-European countries. They originate from analytical laboratories of any branch, as f.i. of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, from private research laboratories, from dealers, from auction sales and liquidations of companies and also national laboratories.

  • Why does someone sell a unit?

Units are offered to Laborgerätebörse for many reasons. Among others because they are replaced by new ones, because laboratories are closed, because laboratories are combined and thus a surplus of analytical units arises, because units are written off against tax, because a certain part of analytics has been abandoned. Utmost rare is the reason that a unit has not functioned correctly respectively not satisfactorily. This is, however, recognised by Laborgerätebörse during the check-up, thus there is no risk in this regard for the buyer.

  • Which are my points of contact?

Questions regarding a used device, or the purchase of a used device may be directed to Labexchange. If, at any time, data is not immediately available, the specialists at Labexchange are able to obtain such data from the offerer, the manufacturer or from another source. Analysts and commercial staff are on hand to answer questions on device configuration, application, overhaul, transport, payment of duties, etc.

  • How do I get technical characteristics and depictions?

Documentations with depictions and technical characteristics are available for all units, which are available. Any question concerning an appliance or unit can be clarified via our staff members. Photographs can be looked up for many units and instruments on these internet pages.

  • I am interested in the configuration of a unit?

The exact configuration respectively the to-be-arranged combination of a unit, per example of a gas-phase chromatograph, can be interrogated via our staff members, unless already completely written in the text of the offer.

  • What else do I get for my unit?

Labexchange keep lists available showing the current market value for the respective types of manufacturers and of units with regard to how old the units are. If you want to know, what the unit you have is still worth, just call us.

  • Where will my unit remain until Laborgerätebörse has found a buyer?

After the unit has been assessed by Labexchange, the bidder can offer the unit to us for sale. This is done by signing a contract for sale. Independent from this the bidder can also try in other channels to sell his unit, of course, he must, however, revoke in writing his sales order at Labexchange, before awarding a contract to another buyer.

Otherwise the unit remains with the tenderer, until Labexchange have found a purchase order from a buyer and will then have ordered the unit at the tenderer by themselves. The unit will only then be picked up respectively be bought at the tenderer. If the tenderer must immediately have to bring out his unit due to lack of space, Labexchange are in a position to store the unit free of costs for the bidder. After we have found a buyer for this unit, the stored unit will be bought by Labexchange.

  • Which data/documents will Labexchange need from me?

For determining exactly the residual value of a unit Labexchange require data about the manufacturer, the model, year of construction respectively date of purchase and also the configuration respectively description of the unit from the bidder. The aptest way would be to send a copy of the invoice, as all these data are given on it.

  • How much do I have to pay for participating in tender?

The tendering of a unit at Labexchange is free of charge.

  • What is favourable for a quick sale of my unit?

In order to find a buyer as soon as possible we invite tenders in our electronic and in our printed media. A strong sales promotion are coloured photographs of the unit, depictions from a leaflet and also other technical data. Send us a coloured photograph or digital image in jpg-format and also the original manuals.

We will copy the most important pages and put them with photograph or depiction of the leaflet into internet or enclose these documents with the written customer offers.

  • How do I offer appliances/units?

To-be-sold appliances/units are always of an interest for Labexchange. The used respectively not used appliances/units should be offered with indication of the manufacturer, the model and year of construction, at best with a copy of the original invoice. Thus the exact present market value of the unit can then be stated by Labexchange.

  • Must my unit be functioning?

Labexchange is able to state the exact current market value of second-hand devices in working order. If a device is faulty, details of the cost of repair (estimate) should be available, so that the correct residual value of the faulty device can be calculated.
